The fast f1.1 aperture with the 75mm equivalent focal length produces a very shallow depth of field that is great for portrait photography. The lens also maintains a wide-open sharpness even at far distances making it The XF 50mm F1.0 is relatively sharp at F1.0 and has fewer aberrations. It performs better against bright lights, and even has smoother bokeh. But it is no Canon RF 50mm F1.2L for Canon’s mirrorless or a Sigma 35mm F1.2 DN for Sony/Leica mirrorless.
